So.
The Dream. Build. Play. winners have been announced over at the DPB Website.
The winners are, Blazing Birds, Dishwasher, Yo Ho Kablammo and Gravitron Ultra… Being the person that I am, I have to assess this, and take it all apart. I’m glad that Dishwasher, Yo Ho and Gravitron made the top 4, but Blazing Birds coming first (tie with Dishwasher) is just ridiculous!
Blazing Birds is a frikken badminton game for crying out loud. Isnt it our job as indies to *cough* innovate? I am duly dissapointed… Its not that Blazing Birds aint bad, it is probably a decent game, but is this that wins Microsoft’s prestige indie competition?
Cant the judges see innovation if it stares them in the face, or is our games simply not innovative enough? I think it is the former. We need to innovate!
Another thing that has been bothering me… The team behind the competition never actually highlighted it, but I think that it might just have been biased towards 360-games. I know, I know… The winner gets an XBLA contract, but then they should not have included PC games to be submitted. I do not for sure if this is the case. I would be pissed if Roach Toaster: XNA did not make the cut, because it was for PC.
Anyway, I am probably inviting Mr. and Mrs. Flame to my doorstep. If you wanna flame me, go ahead. If you want to provide decent comments, go ahead.
What do you think? Are you happy with the results?

Is it! I am pleased to hear that. How will you go about modding it to Xbox-360, or did you not use a mouse?

Yo Ho Kablammo was not my game. The game did utilize the 360 controller on both PC and Xbox though.

That is what I was talking about… It was PC, but it did not utilise the mouse.
