So, as you might know, I was busy porting Roach Toaster from XNA to Java code. As I was porting, it came along nicely and showed great promise. The scope of the project would have meant that I could get good marks for it.
So, cue to Saturday morning 00:12 am and I just realised what a real mess it will be to clean up the Roach Toaster code thoroughly in time. So there I was contemplating… Go on, or start something new.
I had this game idea brooding in my mind since about May 2007. I once tried prototpying it, but I lost zest. A month later and I finally refined the idea to something pretty cool. It is in the same vein as Roach Toaster, ie addictive and simplistic. In fact it is the most simplistically complex game I have yet created. It is hard to describe, but it is simplistic in nature, yet could be become complex!
So there I was. From what I learned from porting Roach Toaster, I delved straight into it and started coding!
And now as I sit here, the game is basically done. All it needs now is some polish!
All I am divulging at the moment is that is called Cyber Jam.
I could not have fathomed that I could have done it in about 1 day.
